With a presentation on the Dutch and European ambitions to close the plastic cycle, the Circular Plastics Initiative will start a series of online sessions on circularity on 4 February: The Circular Plastics Conference 2021.

In 6 sessions of 3 hours each, top experts discuss the latest technological, regulatory and socio-economic developments and prospects. Participants will be actively involved and are asked to share insights and the obstacles they encounter.

Keynote speakers on 4 February will be Florika Fink-Hooijer, director of the European Directorate General for the Environment, Gerald Rebitzer, Amcor’s Sustainability Director, and Prof. Kim Ragaert, associate professor at Ghent University.

Topics

Topics of the other sessions will include progress in sorting and characterization, regulatory needs & developments, designing for recycling, chemical and thermochemical depolymerization, mechanical recycling, solvolysis and other techologies.

The Circular Plastics Conference 2021 is organized in collaboration with Plastics Europe, TNO and CEFLEX. The sessions are on February 4 and 25, March 18, April 8 and 29 and May 20, from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

PhD students or postdoc researchers who want to pitch their research during the conference can submit an abstract for this.
