Janneke Krooneman has been appointed as Lecturer within the Biorefinery chair at Hanze University Groningen.

Her research task Bioconversion and Fermentation Technology focuses on the application of biological conversions for green chemistry and its upscaling to the production of intermediates.

Krooneman is a microbiologist and obtained her PhD at the University of Groningen on research into the biodegradation of environmental contaminants in polluted soils. During her career, she has been working on the application of natural microbiological conversions for sustainable chemistry.
