The Research Centre Biobased Economy (RCBBE) of Hanze University Groningen in the Northern Netherlands will have a new lecturer Biobased Business Valorization from 1 September 2023: Niels Faber will succeed Egbert Dommerholt, who will retire in May 2024.

Niels has extensive experience in research on ‘social sustainability’ and circular business models. In 2021, together with Jan Jonker, he wrote the book Organising for Sustainability: A Guide to Developing New Business Models. Besides to Hanze University, Niels is attached to the University of Groningen as Assistant Professor Circular Entrepreneurship.

With his research, Niels will contribute to the transition to a biobased economy in the Netherlands. His research focuses on sustainable value chains and the optimal use of renewable and plant-based resources. His research is indispensable for the mission of the Research Centre: a sustainable economy based on responsible raw materials and production methods.
