Nearly all EU member states envision a carbon-neutral building stock as part of their 2050 targets. Differing frame conditions and diverse strategies and legal frameworks make a comparison of countries' progress on this subject difficult.

In an online lecture organised by the TU Delft Urban Energy Institute, expert York Ostemeyer will discuss the current statusthe barriers, and drivers to creating a decarbonized future in the EU building stock, based on the analysis of data sets and reports on the EU building sector.

Ostemeyer is Associate Professor at Chalmers TU in Gothenburg and a member of the board of the UNEP Global Alliance of Building and Construction on building passports.
