Ten years ago, Biorizon was launched as part of Circular Biobased Delta as a cross-border partnership between TNO (Netherlands) and VITO (Belgium). There are branches at the Green Chemistry Campus in Bergen op Zoom (the Netherlands) and at the VITO campus in Mol (Belgium). The initiative focuses entirely on the development and scale-up of bioaromatics along three lines of research (sugars, thermochemistry and lignin). The aim is commercial availability of bioaromatics by 2025.
During the annual event, the progress of the three routes (‘horizons’) will be presented. There will also be an interesting keynote from Henkel, the German multinational and world leader in adhesives, sealants and functional coatings. There will also be several presentations, including from SOPREMA, which produces materials for roof waterproofing and insulation, and from Biorizon’s spin-off Relement, which focuses on high-performance bioaromatics for coatings and paints.
There will be a networking dinner the evening before the event (Wednesday 29 November 2023). Details will follow soon. Check the agenda for more information.
