German specialty chemicals company Pulcra Chemicals has announced the acquisition of Devan International Group (Devan) from Belgium.

Pulcra Chemicals is active in the development, production and sales of auxililiaries for the textile, fibre and leather industry. The company, headquartered in Geretsried near Munich (Germany), has a total of 13 branches worldwide, employing about 1,000 people.

Devan has a long track record in green chemistry and sustainability for the global textile industry. Over the past two years, the company has developed several bio-based innovative products that help with circular textile solutions. The company holds several patents in the field of thermoregulation, probiotics and health & wellness.

Under the brand name BI-OME, Devan introduced numerous innovations in the field of anti-microbial and anti-viral solutions. This was done in collaboration with VLAIO and the renowned Pasteur Institute. Devan’s head office is in Ronse (Flanders). There are also offices in Portugal, the UK, the US and China.
