The 2023 theme of ‘Industrial biotechnology for a sustainable and resilient global Europe’, reflects the historical strength of the Netherlands in global trade and its present position as one of the world’s biggest food exporters.

Four themes

The agenda has four key thematic areas: Food, Feed & Nutrition / Sustainable Biomaterials / Sustainable Finance / Bioprocesses & Technologies. It has almost 50 speakers, combining presentations and panel discussions. EuropaBio’s Biomanufacturing Platform also joins EFIB this year.

In addition to the thematic sessions, the agenda is complemented by the Executive Round Table and the EU Legislative Round Table on New Genomic Techniques. Start-ups and SMEs are showcased at the Start-up hour and SME breakfast, and delegates will have the opportunity to network at two receptions and through dedicated 1:1 partnering.

EFIB also includes a pre-day summit on 23 October, focused on pharma: Changing the global paradigm for biomanufacturing in plants. This is open to all EFIB delegates as part of their ticket.

It’s also the last week for applications to the SME Village and Innovation Campus, so if you’re an SME with something to shout about or leading academic research, bring it to EFIB! See the agenda for details and registration.
