Editorial office / The Hague

The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and the Brazilian Research Foundation São Paulo (FAPESP) have issued a joint call for proposals to develop solutions for sustainable landscape use that combine a range of functions and requirements. Part of the project should be an in-depth case study analysis leading to the development of lessons that are transferable and applicable elsewhere.

Consortia wishing to apply for funding must include researchers from the Netherlands and São Paulo. The maximum duration of the projects is five years. A maximum of € 700,000 can be applied for with NWO. FAPESP will match this in terms of research effort.

Proposals should be submitted to both NWO and FAPESP. The deadline for submitting the Letter of Intent (NWO) and SP researcher eligibility check (FAPESP) is 31 August 2021. The deadline for proposals is 21 September 2021.

On 1 June at 15:00 (NL) / 10:00 (BR) a webinar will be held with information on the focus, the procedure and the approach of the impact plan. Please register by sending an e-mail to Brazilië-MF@nwo.nl. An online matchmaking event will follow approximately two weeks after the webinar.
