After an introduction by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences, Bernadette Jansma, AMIBM’s Industry Club chairman, Stefaan de Wildeman, presented the first membership card to entrepreneur and AMIBM PhD candidate Margareta Merke for her SME ‘Boostani’. AMIBM hopes to welcome many more members in the near future.

AMIBM was proud to present a range of distinguished international speakers across the value chain within the topic of biobased materials. The sessions generated interesting discussions and allowed for the exchanging of opinions and new ideas. As an annually reoccurring event, we were also pleased to see the number of attendees grow from 70 in 2016 to almost 110 this year.

The main sessions were alternated with breaks in which we introduced a new feature to the ABC: Poster Presentations. These presentations allow young researchers to share their results. The presenters received a warm reception, with AMIBM’s own candidate, Pavan Manvi Kumar, winning the ABC best poster award.

For the second ABC, AMIBM has published a program book including abstracts from all speakers and poster presentations. The book is available in the University library and can be provided upon request.

Save the date: ABC 2018: 20th of April 2018
