After the oil has been used in kitchens, it’s safely collected and transported to a factory that specialises in processing waste products into bio-based plastic granules. These are used by Philips to manufacture toasters, kettles and coffee makers.
The manufacturing process reduces carbon dioxide emissions, water pollution, and the overall use of natural resources. The end result is a range of everyday kitchen appliances made from sustainable materials with recyclable parts and a 21% smaller CO2 footprint compared to products made from virgin plastics. Each of the products also comes with energy-saving features.
