Key players from the bioeconomy in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) will gather in Bucharest, Romania, on 9-10 April 2025 for the annual BIOEAST Bioeconomy Conference. The event is organised by the BOOST4BIOEAST project, which is working to update the BIOEAST Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA).
Editorial office / Bucharest

The BIOEAST initiative helps the CEE region follow EU policies and address challenges such as climate change, food security and resource management. It focuses on reviewing strategies, finding research gaps and identifying future priorities. Key objectives include reviewing BIOEAST updates, presenting development strategies and engaging stakeholders in the revision of the SRIA.

Besides discussions, the event offers networking opportunities, a poster session featuring bioeconomy projects and a field trip on bioeconomy applications. Participants include representatives from BIOEAST HUBs, research and innovation funders and members of the Horizon Europe Programme Committee. Although the event focuses on CEE stakeholders, participants from all EU countries are welcome.

Submissions for the Best Poster Awards are open until 21 March 2025. See the agenda for details.
