The Annual BIOEAST Bioeconomy Conference is set to take place on 9-10 April 2025 at the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Bucharest, Romania. This event brings together stakeholders from across the Central and Eastern European (CEE) macro-region and beyond to discuss and refine the macro-region’s research and innovation (R&I) priorities in bioeconomy.

Organised under the BIOEAST Initiative and the BOOST4BIOEAST project, the conference will focus on refreshing macro-regional research & innovation priorities for CEE by assessing macro-regional strategic R&I directions, identifying research gaps, and fostering collaboration to drive innovation and policy development in the sector.

  • Gain insights into the latest developments in the BIOEAST Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA).
  • Engage in discussions on EU research and innovation priorities and their impact on the bioeconomy landscape.
  • Participate in interactive thematic sessions to help shape the future of bioeconomy research in the CEE macro-region.
  • Network with policymakers, researchers, innovators, industry actors.
  • Join a field trip showcasing practical bioeconomy applications.

Call for Posters

A dedicated poster session will highlight bioeconomy best practices and projects from the BIOEAST countries or relevant to the macro-region. This is an open call to invite researchers, industry professionals, policymakers, and students and so on, to submit posters on innovative bioeconomy solutions and projects. Best Poster Awards will recognize outstanding contributions to the field.

Submissions for the Best Poster Awards are open until 21 March 2025. Submit your poster proposal via the online application form. The Poster Display & Networking Session is 9 April, 14:30 – 15:15 (CET).
