Speaking for the organising committee, Roger Kilburn stressed the importance of industrial biotech for Scotland. ‘Our country has a strong forestry sector, a brewing and distilling industry, a dominant (petro)chemical cluster and world class academic research. Furthermore, the willingness to collaborate between public institutions and private companies is very high. In short, we aim to make EFIB16 into the best visited conference yet!’
