All four of the listed companies are related to renewable energy and electrification: Energyworx develops a platform analyzing energy data, Flexidao provides blockchain-based software for managing and optimising data on renewable energy, Zola Electric provides energy storage and solar solutions for remote energy access and Viriciti develops fleet telematics solutions for electric and non-electric vehicles and chargers.
The 2021 Global Cleantech 100 reflects the long-running megatrends like digitisation, electrification, resource efficiency and renewable energy. Of all the companies listed, more than half are based in the US, 11 are from Canada and 3 from China. Of the European based companies, most are from Germany (9) and the UK (7). The Cleantech Group states that the list offers a fair representation of global innovation and private company creation.
