We currently consume far more raw materials than the earth can produce. This is not sustainable in the long term and that is why we must make the transition to a circular economy in which raw materials are optimally used and reused. The Circular Economy Knowledge and Innovation Agenda (KIA CE) stimulates the development of knowledge and innovation necessary to achieve a circular economy. One of the resources is the KIA CE subsidy scheme.
The fourth tender of this scheme is open between 7 May and 15 August 2024. A total of 2.5 million euros budget is available for the development of circular products, processes and/or services. This involves technological research and development of new or significantly improved products, services and processes and research into consumer behavior, business or revenue models. The scheme is open for two product groups:
- Manufacturing industry: capital goods, electrolysers and batteries for light electric transport
- Consumer goods: electrical and electronic appliances, furniture, textiles and non-plastic packaging and disposable products
An information and matchmaking meeting will be held in Amersfoort, The Netherlands on 16 May. See the agenda for details.
