In concrete terms, the first step is to build up knowledge about methods for research into the origin of ecotoxicity of waste water and its consequences for the aquatic environment. The objective (scientifically founded) knowledge that is built up during this project can later form the basis for potential measures to reduce the ecotoxicity with maximum efficiency. The project partners have the explicit ambition to scale up the acquired knowledge to other sectors and other European member states.
Ten companies (together with Essenscia Vlaanderen) have indicated that they are interested in participating in this collective research project. At least five of these companies supply their specific waste water for study. However, Catalisti is looking for more industrial partners who want to participate in the ECOTOX project. They can also propose to include their own case in the project. Together the participating companies pay the non-subsidized part of the project budget, which is estimated at approximately € 120,000. Registration is possible until August 24, 2018. For more information, visit the website of Catalisti.
