Traditional Crocs consist of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl marketed under the brand name Croslite. Up to now, EVA has been produced entirely from fossil raw materials (petroleum), but in its aim to be fully climate-neutral by 2030, Crocs Inc. is now switching to bio-based raw materials. In addition, the company is working on introducing its own clog recycling programme. After all, Crocs are indestructible. They cannot be processed in conventional industrial recycling plants and are also not biodegradable.
