The discussions were intensive and inspiring. Important issue was the inspiration of business and governmental leaders to set the path forwards on a global level. Alongside the new upcoming starters who are able to be more disruptive. Also topics as the legislation and the consumer acceptance were addressed. The ‘green premium’ is only partly payed for by consumers. It was also stated that the agro-food industry already has a lot of experience on cascading throughout time, it only needs to be more creative. Government should act more as a launching customers and only purchase fossil basis product if no alternative is available. Cross-overs with other disciplines are relevant, eg. designing and business economics. The challenge was given to not use no plastic for one week: it will be revealing.
