“Currently, Neste is expanding the production capacity of the Singapore refinery by 1.3 million tonnes per year, operational in early 2023. The establishment of our new R&D centre in Singapore, with advanced analytical and feedstock research capabilities, is a good boost to our growth ambitions in the region and supports our largest refinery of renewable products locally,” said Lars Peter Lindfors, Senior Vice President of Innovation at Neste.
Neste produces renewable (bio)fuels, chemicals and polymers based on waste and residues. “With our proprietary NEXBTL refining technology, various renewable products can be produced flexibly, even from low-quality raw materials, while the end products retain their high quality,” Lindfors says.
The new R&D centre will be fully operational from 2023. Between 2022 and 2025, about 40 researchers and other professionals will gradually be hired. Neste’s main R&D facilities will continue to be located at its Technology Center in Porvoo, Finland, which employs nearly 1,100 people in research and development as well as engineering.
