CBE JU (Circular Biobased Europe Joint Undertaking) is the new €2 billion partnership between the European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC). It builds on the success of its predecessor BBI JU.

Following the official launch at the end of November, both founding partners each nominated five representatives to the Governing Board, the main decision-making body of the CBE JU.

The Governing Board’s tasks include supervising the implementation of CBE JU’s objectives, adopting its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda, as well as its yearly work programme and budget, and approving the annual activity report of CBE JU.
