EuropaBio has announced its prelimenary programme for the new EFIB meeting in Toulouse, France at 17 and 18 October 2018. Industrial biotech contributions to the UN SDGs will be the overall theme.

Science writer and broadcaster Vivienne Parry will moderate an opening keynote session featuring Jean Tirole, 2014 Nobel Prize winner for Economics and Chairman of Toulouse School of Economics. The opening plenary will also feature keynotes from Jean-Eric Paquet (Director General, DG Research and Innovation, European Commission), Marcel Wubbolts (Chief Technology Officer, Corbion) and a CEO panel featuring Genomatica, Anellotec, Photanol, Deinove, Green Biologics and EnobraQ.

Industrial biotech entrepreneurs will get a chance to shine during the inaugural EFIB Start-Up Village, and the opportunity to deliver an ‘elevator pitch’ to influential VCs at the EFIB PitchFest.

Exciting track sessions include a synthetic biology and wood biorefining showcases, breakthroughs in plastics innovation, marine biotechnology and sustainable aviation and a track about financing the circular economy.
