This hybrid event will feature detailed sessions on 13 diverse funding topics, alongside in-person networking opportunities and online streaming for remote participants.

With the 2025 call for project proposals opening on 4 April, the event offers a timely platform for stakeholders to explore funding options under CBE JU’s Annual Work Programme, which focuses on advancing competitive, circular bio-based industries by promoting innovation in areas such as urban-industrial symbiosis, sustainable macroalgae systems, and bio-based packaging solutions.

De-risking innovation

As part of its sustainability goals, CBE JU emphasises scaling up circular technologies, enhancing resource efficiency, and fostering regional development through new job creation. “Our efforts aim to de-risk innovation and promote market readiness in the bio-based sector,” said Nicoló Giacomuzzi-Moore, Executive Director of CBE JU.

The Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) is a €2 billion partnership between the European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) that funds projects advancing competitive circular bio-based industries in Europe.
