The conference at which international experts from the bioeconomy and industrial biotechnology meet each year is now organised as a physical event on 6 and 7 October. Biotech into business

The general theme of EFIB this year is: Delivering the EU Green Deal: Industrial biotechnology into business. Various industrial sectors and business areas are covered: green, circular and sustainable, food, animal feed and nutrition, fashion and textiles, financing and investments, materials and packaging, bioprocesses and technologies.

The two conference days are packed with presentations and forum discussions of experts from the European bioeconomy. There will also be extensive matchmaking and networking opportunities. In the Start-up Village, a central meeting point, innovative young entrepreneurs and investors as well as industrial corporations will present themselves. At the Innovation Campus, the most innovative scientific approaches in the field of industrial biotechnology and bioeconomy will be highlighted during a special poster presentation at the exhibition.

Prior to the EFIB Forum there will be a free kick-off webinar sponsored by DSM called “Sustainability in Industrial biotech innovations: Life Cycle Assessment and beyond”. This will take place on 21 September 2021 from 14.30 – 15.30 CET.

There will also be a free physical pre-conference workshop sponsored by CARBAFIN, on the future of CARBAFIN’s glycosylation technology in industrial production processes. This will take place on 5 October 2021 from 14.30 – 17.30 CET.
