The international Climate Adaptation Summit 2021 (CAS 2021) will take place online from the Netherlands on 25 and 26 January 2021.

During the summit, world leaders, heads of state, Prime Minister Mark Rutte and hostess of the climate summit Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen (IenW) will talk about how cities can be made more climate-proof, how agriculture can better anticipate drought and salinization and how coasts are better protected against the rising sea levels. This is presented in a broad Adaptation Action Agenda with practical climate solutions and plans up to 2030. The financing of climate projects is also an important topic of discussion during the climate summit.

During the CAS 2021 there will be 24-hour sessions with governments, companies, scientists, NGOs and young people from different parts of the world. Anyone can participate online, anywhere in the world. CAS 2021 will be concluded during a session with the World Economic Forum from Davos.

The summit will be preceded by all kinds of activities in Groningen and Rotterdam, host cities of the Global Center on Adaptation that was established in the Netherlands in 2018 at the initiative of Minister Van Nieuwenhuizen.

Organizations that want to participate in CAS2021 by organizing a ‘side event’ can register online.
