BIOKET 2020 has an inspiring and targeted conference program which will tackle topics such as advanced and innovative biomass pretreatment; technologies for biomass conversion and functionalization; extraction, separation and purification of biomass; process modelisation and analytical methods and tools; innovative tools; design of bioprocesses, advanced fermentation.
On 30 June, Philippe Mengal, BBI JU Executive Director, opens the first plenary ‘Moving from Horizon 2020 to Horizon Europe: what are the opportunities for the bioeconomy?’ with a presentation about th BBI JU achievements in its five years of existence and the challenges ahead in the next framework programme.
On 2 July, the BBI JU project VALUEMAG hosts a workshop in the afternoon where current major world issues will be analysed – on one hand, environmental problems such as global warming and air and ground pollution, and on the other hand, fuel supply – and how this BBI JU-funded project can tackle them. A very promising alternative that is becoming more and more popular consists in the development of microalgae-based bio-refineries. In this respect, the VALUEMAG project proposes a revolutionary, innovative, and eco-friendly solution to reduce significantly the associated costs, and thus building more efficient microalgae-based biorefinery systems.
