On 21 June 2022, HAN BioCentre in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, is organising the symposium '15 years of HAN BioCentre: a multidisciplinary approach to green and health solutions'.

The plenary and parallel sessions will focus on biobased technology with attention to the versatility of fungi, plant ingredients and data driven science.

During the plenary sessions there will be two inspiring keynote speakers:

  • Jan Wery, Chief Technology Officer of Photanol talks about microbial biotechnology;
  • Renger Witkamp, Professor of Nutrition and Pharmacology at Wageningen University will speak about the future of natural substances with positive health effects.

Between 14:30 and 16:00 there will be parallel sessions on fungi and mushrooms (‘Fantastic Funghi’), plant ingredients (‘Fabulous Phytochemicals’) and the role of data science in innovations (‘Innovation driven by sequence data’).

Participants can also take a tour through the new laboratories of HAN BioCentre. The symposium will be concluded with a closing speech and networking drinks.
