Discover how EU research and innovation improves everyday life in a conference organised by the European Parliament and the European Commission on 27 November.

Over the last 30 years, the EU has invested €200 billion in research and innovation projects improving life for everyone. From Galileo – the European GPS – to Casper, a robot that helps children fighting cancer, the benefits of research are wide-ranging. Last year, more than 60% of completed projects funded by the European Research Council (ERC) were considered major scientific breakthroughs. More than 80 EU scientists and researchers were Nobel Prize laureates over the last 10 years

The conference will bring together researchers and politicians to reflect on past and present achievements. There will be panels on:

  • Health and wellbeing
  • Sustainable environment
  • Putting innovation on the market
  • Safe and secure society for all
