On 3, 4 and 5 December, more than 1,500 chemists from science and industry gather together for the 6th edition of the Dutch chemistry conference CHAINS.

CHAINS is powered by NWO Domain Science, Topsector Chemistry, KNCV, InnovatieLink, VNCI and KNAW.

Activities related to similar themes will be clustered at the location, to promote easy encounters with sub-communities. On 3 December, the programme’s main focus will be ‘Chemistry of Life’. The programme on 4 December covers sessions from ‘Chemistry of Life’, ‘Chemistry of Materials’ to ‘Chemical Conversion’ as well as activities of interest to all chemists. Next to parallel and focus sessions, lectures from several renowned plenary speakers and various opportunities for networking. On 5 December, the programme will focus on ‘Chemistry of Materials’ and ‘Chemical Conversion’.

The following plenary speakers have confirmed: Jason Chin (University of Cambridge), Paula Hammond (MIT), Pieternel Levelt (KNMI, TU Delft), Kevin Plaxco (UC Santa Barbara) and Bert Weckhuysen (Utrecht University). Young researchers will have the opportunity to present their research in parallel sessions and several focus and poster sessions, which will be interspersed with keynote lectures and plenary speakers.

Group leaders can still nominate speakers (PhD Students/PostDocs) for parallel sessions until 20 August, 13:00h. Poster registration is open until 1 October 2018, 13:00h. See the CHAINS website for details.
